Why Roy Hodgson should not be shown the door at Liverpool

Roy Hodgson has a history of starting off his career at a club on the slow foot. At Fulham, the manager had managed to win one out of the nine opening fixtures and even went on to get knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol Rovers. However despite the manager turning the coal at Fulham to gold, it’s not a guarantee that he would do the same at Liverpool.

Ultimately, the blame isn't really down to the manager for the team's poor performance; it's pretty much the players who have to go out and play. If that very team is failing at what they are being paid to do, it's not something the manager can fix. If the player's don't start performing sooner rather than later, it might just be too late for anyone to save the team, no matter how much money is invested in the club in the future.

Liverpool is a club that is built around the basis of being an honest club and giving everyone an opportunity to prove themselves. It would not be dignified of Liverpool to let go of a manager who joined a flailing club and hasn’t been able to get worthwhile results in the seven games his team has played so far. Countless other teams got rid of managers left and right because they didn't get the results from the very first day; now those very teams are doing worse than they have ever done and the only reason for that is because managers take time to understand a club and then take some more to get it back on track.

Liverpool are in the relegation zone, which is an undeniable fact. However at this point in the season, any one could have found themselves at that spot. What no one realizes is that the team, despite being in the relegation zone, is only five points away from a Champions League spot. Five points in the Premier League could be gained in a couple of weeks. What this means is that it is fairly ludicrous to say that Liverpool's season is over, considering the season hasn't even really started as yet.

Lastly and most importantly, it’s only been seven games. It would just be a waste of money to fire a manager after seven games at a club that is currently facing some major financial issues and wouldn't be able to cope up with paying off another manager to quit and thing bring in someone new.
