Trade talks not bothering Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd – MLB News
Recently some reports have created a big buzz in the media as the Chicago White Sox’s starting pitcher Gavin Floyd will be traded to Toronto Blue Jays in few months’ time. Even though this news somewhat stands no authentication by the White Sox or the Blue Jays’ management, but still Floyd thinks that it is better to come-out in the media for explaining his point of view to give satisfaction his fans.
"It's a good thing in a way," Floyd said. "Teams want you. But I want to be here; it's our second home here. I look forward to making an impact in Chicago. I just was hearing things, People were text messaging me but until it happens you really don't know. They're all rumours, and a lot of those don't necessarily come from the teams."
He also explained as he is quite happy in the White Sox roster and his franchise also has no plans trading him to another Major League team. Floyd stated White Sox is his home and he will be completing his tenure here before thinking to join another franchise.
This is important that Floyd will be staying with the team for next season, but the White Sox has some other issues to resolve as well. Currently the White Sox are preparing hard for the next season practicing in 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training and hoping the team will bring some good results next season.
The White Sox’s several players are still not in best shape and need more practice. Especially their backup catcher Tyler Flowers needs to establish himself fully prepared before the season gets started. His recent comments in the media are a good sign, but he still needs little bit extra to out-do opponents next season.
According to his late statement that, "I'll try to simplify it as much as we can, I'm probably not playing as much as I'd like to, so I have to make it as simple as I can to have a chance. On the other side, it's on me to be consistent.”
In the meanwhile, the White Sox still hopeful that they will put-up a good show despite their one or two players are having some difficulties at the moment.
