A hat-trick from Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired AC Milan to maintain their strangle hold on top of the league table. The Swede completed his hat-trick in the first-half before Thiago Silva netted the fourth goal for the Rossoneri.
Milan move three points clear at the top of the table, while Palermo slip to the 9th spot after the defeat.
Juventus 1-1 Chievo Verona-Saturday, March 3
The Old Lady were held to another stalemate against a lowly-ranked side, as they drew 1-1 against Chievo. Paolo De Ceglie gave Juventus the lead in the 18th minute, but the Turin giants struggled throughout the game. The Flying Donkey’s tested Juve’s defence on numerous occasions but their reward came in the 76th minute, through Boukary Dramé equaliser.
Antonio Conte’s side remain three points behind Milan at the second spot, albeit with an extra game in hand. On the other hand, Chievo move to the 10th place with the draw.
Parma 1-2 Napoli- Sunday, March 4
The Partenopei side continued their impressive form, but they were not at their usual standards against an impressive Gialloblu side. Edinson Cavani gave Napoli the lead after converting a rebound from a spot-kick. Cristian Zaccardo found an equaliser for his team after putting the rebound into the back of the net in the 77th minute.
Ezequiel Lavezzi continued his dream goal-scoring form, and scored the winner for his side in the 86th minute. The Argentine clearly looked offside during his effort.
AS Roma 1-2 Lazio-Sunday, March 4
Lazio completed their first double in Derby della Capitale in 15 years, as they sneaked a narrow win over their bitter rivals. Hernanes opened the scoring for the Biancazzurri from a penalty kick in the 10th minute. Fabio Borini fought back with an instant equaliser for the Giallorossi before Stefano Mauri sealed the winner in a crunch encounter.
Maarten Stekelenburg was shown a straight red-card in the game. Lazio moved to the 3rd spot with the win, while Roma remain 6th in the table.
Inter Milan 2-2 Catania- Sunday, March 4
Late goals from Diego Milito and Diego Forlan helped La Beneamata secure a hard fought draw against Vincenzo Montella’s men. Alejandro Gomez and Mariano Julio Izco put the Elefanti two goals up at the half-time, as Inter looked destined for their eighth consecutive defeat.
The Nerazzurri remain 7th while Catania are 8th in the points table.
Fiorentina 2-0 Cesena-Sunday, March 4
La Viola struggled to maintain their consistency, and had to wait until the second-half to open the goal-scoring. Vangelis Moras scored an own-goal before Matja Nastasic doubled their advantage minutes later.
The Tuscan side suffered a huge blow, as their star striker, Stevan Jovetic, picked up a knee injury and had to be substituted in the 20th minute.
