The Dutchman voiced his admiration for the Portuguese international, claiming that he never observed the forward as arrogant.
Former Malaga, Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer, Ruud van Nistelrooy, has nothing but praise for former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, as he took out the time to shower him with praises.
According to the retired striker, Ronaldo was always a rare talent, whilst adding that the Madrid number 7 is not an arrogant player.
Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano played together at English Premier League giants, Manchester United, for three years. The two footballers were reunited at Los Blancos for one year, which was the Dutchman’s last season at the Spanish capital.
While revealing all that he knows about the Portuguese skipper, the former Madridista stated that he shared a healthy relationship with the attacker.
Moreover, he looked at their time together and revealed that the two athletes had great understanding towards one another since they were both used in the attack by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Moreover, Nistelrooy commented that Ronaldo was always ambitious and aimed at perfecting his footballing skills.
He went on to state that the 28-year-old’s ambition inspired him to work extra hard and become better with each passing day.
He also expressed that all the hard work that the Portuguese national has put into his game is manifest as he is undoubtedly among the best players in the world at the moment.
"I never saw him as an arrogant guy. He was always open to advice and not arrogant at all. He was a great guy in the dressing room. He was really vain, but always in a good mood and making jokes," Van Nistelrooy told reporters.
"I talked to him like attackers talk among each other. A lot of his individual actions were not necessary and he lacked efficiency. He still had a lot of room for improvement.”
"He worked incredibly hard to become a better player, though. And that's clearly paid off. He really is crazy about the game and always
wanted to become the perfect player,” he added.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in 10 official appearances in the season so far.
