Postmaster likely to prevail in Ladbrokesgames.com Open Hunters´ Chase
Postmaster has been rated as hot favourite to win the Ladbrokesgames.com Open Hunters´ Chase (for the Stuart Adamson Memorial Trophy) at Folkestone in England on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The winner of the class-6 event will be awarded a cash prize of £1,153.
The going will be good in the 3 mile 1 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 19:55 GMT. Only six runners will be seen in action today and their names are as follows: Postmaster, Start Royal, Horner Woods, Mortar, Myson and Or Jaune.
Looking at the experience of Postmaster, the bookies have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He has been performing extremely well over the past few events, which will definitely help him attract a lot of bets from the punters.
The 10-year-old gelding has participated in 98 races overall, winning just 10 of them. His strike rate is definitely on the lower side, but his experience shows that he has the ability to match anyone in any conditions.
Postmaster has a better record in chase events though, as he has managed to win five of them out of 25 attempts. He has also secured the runner up spot on seven times whereas took the third spot in three races. This goes onto show that he finished in the
top 10 on 15 occasions in such events.
The Tim Vaughan’s trainee seems to be in very good form at the moment, as he managed to win a couple of races out of his previous three attempts. He is expected to deliver a similar result today at Folkestone.
The seasoned runner will be partnered by Mr Matthew Barber, who is quite an inexperienced jockey. He has never managed to win any chase event, but has a solid chance of breaking the shackles today.
On the other hand, Start Royal will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as he has managed to win one chase event out of four attempts. In addition to that, he has also secured the runner up and third place spot on the same number of times.
Apart from the top two favourites, Horner Woods might also attract a few bets from the punters today.
