Philippines annihilate Indonesian 94-54 in the second round of the SEABA Championship 2011- Recap
Playing at Jakarta on Saturday, Philippines wiped out Indonesia in a lop-sided battle and romped to their second straight victory in the day 2 of the Southeast Asian Basketball Association Championship 2011. Philippines utterly
dominated the proceedings throughout the game to wrap up a comprehensive 94-54 victory over Indonesia.
Christopher Ryan Lutz and Japeth Paul Aguilar stimulated the offensive system for the winning team with 20 and 19 points respectively. The 6 foot 3 inches Dylan Simon Ababou also racked up 13 points and dished out 3 assists. Dylan
Simon made 4 steals as well.
On the other hand, Indonesian forward Andi Poedjakesuma was the only player who showed some retaliation against the might of Philippines. Andi finished the game with 10 points and clutched 6 rebounds in over 17 minutes of playing
time as the rest of the players from Indonesia failed to mark an impression.
The Indonesians committed a number of fouls throughout the game and the Philippines made the most of the free throws provided to them. In all, they buried 30 shots from the charity strip in 42 attempts. Indonesia, on the contrary,
managed to avail only 6 shots from the charity stripe and that created the major difference in the game.
The Filipinos romped to 16-5 run in the first six minutes of the game and from there they never trailed through the game. Marcus Eugene Douthit and Christopher Ryan surged with a couple of more shots from the field as Philippines
procured 20-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Philippines displayed some magnificent teamwork in the second quarter. They dominated the Indonesians ion every facet of the game. Dylan Simon buried two scorching blows from beyond the arc in as many attempts which provided a
massive 27 points lead as the game progressed into the second half.
The Indonesian team seemed totally helpless against the brilliance of Philippines in the last two quarters as well and never managed to gain any sort of momentum. Even though the Indonesian team managed to put up a better offensive
game in the last two periods and landed 16 points in both the frame, they failed to counter the Philippines offense, which showed no signs of retreat even after procuring a huge lead and won the game with 40-point margin.
