Philadelphia Flyers’ Ed Snider disappointed at third game loss but has not given up hope – NHL News
Chairman of the Flyers, Ed Snider was very disappointed after his cherished team lost the third game against the Boston Bruins to fall behind 3-0 in the series.
Snider, himself did a great deal for the Flyers team and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. Ever since taking charge of the Flyers he has done a great deal with the most noticeable thing being the fact that he was the one that brought the National
Hockey League to Philadelphia 45 years ago.
After the team lost the third consecutive game to the Bruins and found themselves in a hole almost a year ago, he seemed to be restless while moving around the locker room.
"I just think that Boston is playing very well and maybe we weren't quite as prepared as we should have been for what they did at the beginning of the game," Snider said.
Snider is one of those die-hard fans who have hopes of their team winning right until the end, even though it may be impossible. In this game, the Bruins scored two early goals within the first two minutes to get into the driving seat. However, there was
no sign of tension on Snider’s face as he did not think that his team would lose.
"I thought there was a fight tonight … I don't think they quit," he said. "They kept playing. They played hard, but unfortunately we didn't score enough goals to make a difference. It came back from a 3-2 deficit going into Buffalo, won two in a row, won
that series. Last year, we showed fight throughout the playoffs with very much the same squad so I have a lot of faith in these guys. They're not going to ever quit."
When he was asked about the uncertainty in the department of goal-keeping, he said that he himself was unaware of what was going on. He was also asked about the fact that is it the goal-keeping that let the Flyers down in the series. He said that that the
team was not out yet and still had a strong chance of making their way back and book a place in the Conference Finals.
Snider also praised the opposing goal-keeper Tim Thomas who has made 83 saves out of 84 shots fired on his goal in the series so far. But with this, he says that the Flyers are still in with a strong chance of winning and can certainly play the same ice
hockey that they did last year.
