market.
Redknapp’s team face Manchester United at the weekend at Old Trafford, undoubtedly the Red Devils are intimidating within their own right but perhaps not as much as Wilson’s mother. For the record, Wilson Palacios did eventually start
for Tottenham Hotspurs in their match against Everton at the White Hart Lane. Manchester City lost to Arsenal at the previous weekend as well by a humiliating score line of three goals to nil. The defeat was brought about by a foolish red card that Boyata
saw as a result of his challenge inside the Manchester City penalty area.
Nonetheless, Arsene Wenger was in a serene mood as tried to comfort the big cash cows of the league by saying, "City now will be one of the contenders because they are not at the end of an investment cycle. It looks like they are at the
start of it so you have to consider them as one of the teams that will challenge. In our own way, we are at the start of a cycle. That's what is good in football: every club can work with its own rules".
Andy Carroll also made the headlines in the past week but for all the wrong reasons apparently. Carroll’s lawyer was on hand to speak for his client as the attorney informed, “Liquid was deliberately thrown but the glass accidentally travelled
through the air due to the glass having been made wet". The statement in question was supposed to clear up how a certain Michael Cook suffered a cut above his right eye after exchanged some strong words with the Newcastle front man in a bar. Maybe Maynard
James Keenan was right after all when he said that “Lawyer Liar, Mirror show me the difference”.
Sinisa Mihajlovic was at his diplomatic best when he spoke about a waiter that Adrian Mutu had injured in a brawl outside a night club in Italy. The Fiorentina coach said, “Certainly, we are sorry for the waiter that was involved in this
incident. Perhaps we will invite him to see a Fiorentina game". What inadequate solace for the man who had his nose broken by a well built footballer.
Tony Pulis charged up the whole big-clubs-get-preferential-treatment as he spoke to the media about Gary Neville’s dangerous challenge which deserved a second yellow card. The Stoke City manager said, "Let me ask you this. If a Stoke player
had done that at Old Trafford do you think he would have been sent off? Yes. Exactly."
Getting back to the whole Rooney controversy, Roy Keane spoke about without the lack of retrospective ability as he said, “Don’t worry or lose any sleep over Manchester United. They will be fine. They will be as strong as ever. Let’s not
forget what a great, great club United is. They are an absolutely brilliant football club, probably one of the best in the world, without a shadow of doubt. I would say to any player who has a chance of signing for Manchester United 'You sign for them, absolutely’.”
The former Manchester United captain is still in love with his ex-club. Keane spent the best part of his career at Old Trafford and was a fan favourite during his time at the Manchester club.
