Pandev desperate to prove his worth at Napoli and all-praise for Lavezzi: Serie A news
Napoli striker, Goran Pandev, is desperate to return from injury as early as possible to prove his worth at the Stadio San Paolo.
The Macedonian striker joined the Partenopei side on-loan from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window. Pandev picked up a thigh injury in training few weeks back and is nearing return after missing few matches.
The former Lazio star admitted that he is nearing return and wants to get back to full fitness very soon. Pandev is not happy with the start to his Napoli career and wants to contribute something big for the club.
“I’m feeling better and I’m working hard to get back to full fitness. I’m disappointed that, for various reasons, I haven’t been able to show my worth. I just can’t wait to play again though so that I can start paying back the
club for their faith in me and the fans for their passion.”
The 28-year-old believes that he is at the right club which is moving towards a right direction. He added that every individual is dedicated towards the club’s cause and they want to win each and every game. The striker is hoping
to win a major trophy in the ongoing season and believes that the squad has the capability of winning it.
The Macedonian took time to praise his Azzurri teammate, Ezequiel Lavezzi, and believes that he has a great player who has superb technique and understands the game very well.
“I’ve found a very strong squad here. I’m hopeful that if we continue on this road then we can win something in the future. This team is strong, there are some important players and then there is Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Argentine
is extraordinary. He has great technique and he’s magnificent in one on one situation.”
Pandev left the Nerazzurri in search of first-team football but has not found a position for himself in the Napoli starting line-up. The attacker is hoping to participate in the club’s next league game against Parma this weekend.
