The Dutch International has been linked with a move away from Philips Stadion to join Manchester United, AC Milan or Inter Milan, but his agent has cooled the transfer talk for now.
PSV Eindhoven midfielder, Kevin Strootman, has long been linked with a host of European clubs including the likes of Manchester United, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
However, the 22-year-old’s agent has cooled down his client’s expected move this summer, by claiming that he will not decide about his future before Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine concludes.
The promising young midfielder, who started his professional career at Sparta Rotterdam in the summer of 2008, arrived at Philips Stadion before the start of the 2011/12 season after making 14 appearances for FC Utrecht.
The versatile midfielder put in mesmerising shows at the centre of the park at Philips Stadion throughout the recently concluded campaign for the Eindhoven giants.
His impressive showings turned few heads at Old Trafford and San Siro, as Manchester United, AC Milan and Inter Milan have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring his services in the upcoming summer transfer market.
However, Strootman’s agent has calmed all the transfer speculations by claiming that his client’s departure from Philips Stadion before the start of the 2012/13 season seems to be very unlikely.
“Inter Milan and the player? At the moment there is nothing concrete. Manchester United? The same. Personally, I find it rather difficult for him to leave the club because he only arrived last summer and has a five-year contract.
The boy is not worried at all and is just focused on his work for Holland. Eventually, after the Euros we will see what might happen”, the midfielder’s agent said while talking to journalists.
The Dutch midfielder, who has thus far made 30 appearances while wearing the jersey of PSV, has an ongoing contract at Philips Stadion that runs until the end of the 2015/16 season.
Although, the PSV management would be unwilling to let go of their prized asset this summer, an offer in the region of 18 million Euros could prove to be enough to lure the midfield ace away from Philips Stadion.
