NBA’s top performers from 22 February games
Following the All-Star Weekend, nine clashes took place on Tuesday, 22 February, in which 18 teams participated. Here is a review of some of the best performers who outclassed their opposition in the matches:
D.J. Augustin- Charlotte Bobcats
No turnovers, game-high 23 points and eight assists in 36 minutes! Augustin was a hero in Bobcats run over the Toronto Raptors. He played a main role in Charlotte’s win as he posted 11 points in the starting 12 minutes of play to set the game on fire
for his team.
Danny Granger- Indiana Pacers
The Pacers forward clinched 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the winners. The player shot 5-for-8 from the field in the third quarter alone and all of his rebounds came in that very same quarter. "We can't give up games that we're supposed to
win," He said later.
Bynum and Stuckey- Detroit Pistons
Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey were the only two players who tried to keep the game going for Detroit. Bynum had team-high 21 points, 15 of them coming in later half. The Pistons lost to Houston Rockets, but the players marked their remarkable performance
in the game.
Mario Chalmers- Miami Heat
Chalmers pulled the chords out Tuesday night. The player played with an offensive streak and scored 14 points after receiving words of criticism throughout this season. He went 6-for-7 from the field and also grabbed three rebounds plus four dimes.
Michael Beasley- Minnesota Timberwolves
The player ruled the box, going 10-for-17 from the field en route his 21 points. The titan played very well and pulled out all the four points that came his way.
Ty Lawson- Denver Nuggets
Lawson gave a perfect shoulder for the Carmelo Anthony-less Nuggets. The player notched 21 points, pulled out seven assists and had six steals to keep the Nuggets afloat. "It felt like there was a lot more flow on the court," said the player. "It felt
good out there." He added.
Paul Pierce- Boston Celtics
As the Celtics broke their six-game losing streak against the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, Pierce also broke his skid from the 3-pointer zone that he was skidding through his previous seven games. The Celtics shooting guard scored 23 points in
35 minutes and by going 9-for-13 from the field broke the shell surrounding him. He clinched 3-of-5 three-pointers that came his way.
The 33-year-old was later quoted as saying, "You lose the first game, you kind of lose your momentum and then you're battling uphill," said Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who added 23 points. "So it's kind of good to get that first one and keep that
momentum."
Pau Gasol- Los Angeles Lakers
In a game in which others failed to launch even a single double-double, Gasol marked his 32nd double-double. The player pulled out 14 points and grabbed 10 boards for the winning team.
