The Partenopei striker coy over his long-term future and wants to concentrate on his performances; not thinking of Real Madrid, Manchester United or Chelsea.
Napoli striker, Edinson Cavani, is uncertain about his future at Stadio San Paolo, insisting “My future is in God's hands.”
The Uruguayan international has established himself as one of the best strikers in the game since his move to Napoli before the start of 2010/11 season. Cavani has scored 57 goals in 79 matches in
the Azzurri shirt, and has been a catalyst behind the team’s recent success.
His wonderful performances for the Partenopei have made him a hot property in the transfer market, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea all keen in his signature.
The tall striker is getting upset with the transfer rumours, and insisted that he is only concentrating on his team’s Serie A and Coppa Italia commitments and nothing else. The talismanic striker insisted
that he will leave his future in God’s hands, as he will decide the best for him.
The 25-year-old believes that things changed considerably for him when he joined the Azzurri, and he is expecting the same in the future.
While talking to Ovacion Digital, Cavani said:
"It is best to give importance only to all the things we are involved in right now, like Serie A and Coppa Italia. There is no reason to think about what may happen after that. We have to seize the
moment, while always trying to give our best.”
"Moreover, I always leave my decisions in God's hands. When I went to Napoli, things happened in a [certain] way that I joined the club, when I had never imagined or thought that it could happen. In
the future, the same thing will happen." Added the former Palermo star
Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is reluctant to sell his prized asset, and to ward off the interest from the suitors, he has slapped a 100 million Euros price tag on the South American star.
After a dream 2010/11 season, the striker has had another tremendous campaign, having scored 24 goals in 32 matches played so far this season.
