  • Michael Carrick says that Manchester United are not content from their draw against Chelsea

Even though the Red Devils came back from three goals down to draw the match three all, their midfielder says that they are not happy with the result as they should’ve won it in the end...

Manchester United took on Chelsea in their latest Premier League tie and provided an enthralling fixture which saw them go down by three goals at Stamford Bridge. However Sir Alex Ferguson’s men rallied back to reclaim a point from the encounter as Wayne Rooney netted two penalties and Javier Hernandez eventually scored the equalizer via a Ryan Giggs cross.

It was vintage Manchester United stuff as the Red Devils kept within viewing distance of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table who are now just two points ahead of Manchester United in the title race. Chelsea felt hard done by some of the decisions in the match made by referee Howard Webb but United had no qualms in grasping the opportunities that fell their way in London.

Michael Carrick said in his post-match comments, "We were slightly disappointed in the end. Obviously, when you're 3-0 down and have your backs against the wall, if someone offers you a point then you'll be happy with that but getting a third goal with a fair bit of the game to go, we fancied ourselves to go on and win it.”

He added, "We probably looked like the likelier team to do it. They had a good free-kick but it's a strange feeling in many ways, it was an up and down afternoon and in the end, a point is a point and we can take an awful lot from that game. We played well in the first half and created some opportunities. Even when we were 1-0 down at half-time we were a bit stunned and surprised but that's how it was and we had to deal with it. It's a credit to the boys, we kept going, kept pushing and kept believing that we could get something out of the game and in the end we have."
