The Borussia Dortmund attacker has insisted that his side can reach the knock-out stage despite a tough group in the UEFA Champions League.
The Black Yellows have been drawn in Group D of the competition and will compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Ajax for a place in the next round. Many have already tipped the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester
City to progress from the lot, but anything can happen in football.
Marco Reus believes that his side has the potential to compete with the best in Europe and is confident that the team can give the other three teams a run for their money in the group stage. He insisted that Dortmund have a good
chance and is confident that the team can progress if they play to their full potential.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach man stressed that he can improve under Jurgen Klopp and wants the club to do well in all competitions. The player added that the manager constantly tries to help the players and admitted that
he has learnt a lot from the two-time Bundesliga winning manager.
“The Champions League is there to compete with the best. Many think that Dortmund have no chance in this group, but we believe in ourselves and know that anything is possible. I see no limit to my performances and can improve every
day. Jurgen Klopp is the right person to make us all better. With him in training, I learn things that I've not done before,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the attacker added that his side have a good chance in the 2014 World Cup to be held in Brazil. However, he claimed that there are still a lot of areas the team has to improve on.
“It must be our goal (to be world champions). I want to win major titles. But we all agree that we still have a lot to learn before 2014 in order to win it,” he concluded.
Marco Reus has thus far made two league appearances for the German champions and has scored one goal in the process.
