Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck looking to play permanently for Sunderland – EPL news

Manchester United youngster Danny Welbeck who is currently on loan spell with Sunderland has hinted for a permanent move to the club.

Welbeck has had a wonderful season at the Stadium of Light and has developed himself as a future star. Welbeck has made 23 appearances for the Black Cats in the ongoing 2010-11 season and has been a dominant figure behind their success.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is readying a 12-million-pound offer to sign the 20-year-old on permanent basis. It is highly unlikely that any deal will go through, as Sir Alex Ferguson rates him highly.

Welbeck admitted that he will decide about his future at the end of the ongoing  season.

“I’ve not really thought too much about what I’m going to do, but I’ve really enjoyed my time at Sunderland. It has benefited me massively, just to be around with the big boys week in, week out. I’m delighted with that, but the end of the season will be the time to sit down and think about the future. I’m like anyone else; I want to play every week. Football is my job. I like training hard and then playing in games, but we will just see what happens in the summer,” he said.

Welbeck has scored 6 goals with Sunderland in the current season and his Man of the Match performance helped the Black Cats in stunning Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in November 2010. The Manchester born striker scored a wonderful goal in the recent England Under-21 fixture against Denmark Under-21 and helped his side to a 4-0 win.

The striker is developing at a steady pace and has already drawn comparisons with legends like Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham. Welbeck wants to play on a regular basis however, his chances of making it to the Manchester United starting line-up are thin at the moment as Sir Alex Ferguson wants to polish the striker a little more. He might be considering the option of sending him on loan for another season.

Welbeck has formed a formidable partnership with Asamoah Gyan and will play a huge part in the club’s chances to win a UEFA Europa League place for the next season.
