Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher hails impact of Luis Suarez – English Premier League news

Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has hailed the impact of teammate Luis Suarez since his arrival from Ajax Amsterdam in the January transfer window. He claimed that the Uruguayan’s consistent performances could make him a legend at Anfield.

Luis Suarez joined Liverpool in a move worth 22.8 million pounds in January this year and has been a revelation ever since. The striker has been instrumental in the club’s resurgence under manager Kenny Dalglish and has chipped in with some match winning performances.

Carragher stated that if Suarez keeps playing like the way he did against Fulham on Monday, he would go onto become a legend even bigger than him. He praised the striker’s ability and admitted that he was surprised how fast the forward has adapted to English football.

“If he [Suarez] keeps playing like that I think he'll be a bigger legend than I'll ever be. He looks a really top player, he plays for the team. It shows he's adaptable and versatile, he can do different jobs for the teams,” the centre-back was quoted as saying in an interview.

The England International also acknowledged other players who have come into the squad this season. He stated that Andy Carroll and Raul Meireles have also been brilliant for the team and have played a huge part in the club’s revival.

He insisted that Suarez will be a player to watch out for next season and his partnership with Carroll will be superb.

“Players coming in have made a huge difference as well, Suarez is superb. I hope I'm not getting too carried away here but I think the performances that he's showed have proved he's going to be a real player for Liverpool, not just between now and the end of season but for years to come,” the veteran concluded.

Jamie Carragher made his 666th appearance for Liverpool against Fulham at Craven Cottage and reached the milestone of being the second most capped Reds’ player behind Ian Callaghan. The defender also has 38 International caps to his name and is yet to score for country.
