Leicestershire v Lancashire - Friends Life T20 - North Group - Lancashire amass 154 - Live Score and Update
Lancashire 154/6 (20/20 ov) – Leicestershire won the toss and chose to field
With one Friends Life T20 - North Group game between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire abandoned due to heavy showers at Nottingham, the game between Leicestershire and Lancashire got underway under clear skies at Grace Road, Leicester, where after being put
into bat by Leicestershire, the team from Lancashire went on to amass a total of 154 runs for the loss of six wickets.
The side had a terrible start to their innings as the opening partnership was broken with only eight runs on the board as TC Smith perished for four runs.
Then with 28 runs on the board, number-three batsman, SJ Croft also lost his standing after scoring only five runs.
These were testing times for the batting side as they were seemingly up against a very aggressive bowling attack and needed to hold their own in order to come out as victors.
However, things took the nose dip for Leicestershire as Lancashire batsmen SC Moore and KR Brown forged a stinging resistance as they halted the bowling onslaught in order to help their side amass a big total by the end of the innings.
The duo exhibited extreme confidence as they hammered the bowlers almost everywhere to leave them in ruins.
Finally with 106 runs on the board, the intimidating partnership came to its end on the wicket of Moore, who lost his wicket after bolstering an amazing knock of 58 runs off 44 deliveries.
Brown was then the next to walk back to the pavilion as he was dismissed after jabbing an innings of 24 runs, leaving his team standing on a tally of 115 runs.
All-rounder Abdul Razzaq then joined the party and grabbed the wickets of PJ Horton (11) and Gareth Cross (9) to put pressure on the batting side.
Yasir Arafat (20) and skipper G Chapple (2) then remained unbeaten till the end and tried desperately to add a few more run to the overall tally in order to give their bowlers a serious chance of defending a total.
