Kenny Dalglish makes Mario Gomez’ enquiry; Chelsea interested in signing Carlos Tevez

Kenny Dalglish interested in signing Mario Gomez

Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, is reportedly planning a summer swoop for Bayern Munich striker, Mario Gomez. According to the newspapers in Germany, Dalglish has enquired about the availability of the German International.

The Reds enquired about Gomez in the January transfer window as well following the sale of Fernando Torres to Chelsea for 50 million pounds. The Bavarians rejected the offer then as they did not want to part company with their prized asset. Dalglish later went onto sign Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

Despite signing the strike duo in January, Liverpool are still interested in signing the former Stuttgart striker. Gomez is the leading goal-scorer in the 2010/11 Bundesliga season, having netted 25 goals so far in the season.

Liverpool’s new owners have made it clear that wholesale changes will be made to strengthen the squad as they plan to end a six-year trophy drought at the club. With striker Miroslav Klose expected to leave the club in summer, chances of Gomez moving to Anfield are very slim to say the least.

Chelsea planning Carlos Tevez swoop

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez, in the summer transfer window. The Blues signed Fernando Torres in the January transfer window for a club record fee of 50 million pounds. With Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka nearing the end of their careers, Chelsea are keen to sign their replacements before the duo retires.

Tevez has played for West Ham United, Manchester United and Manchester City in the Premier League and will definitely look forward for a new challenge with the Blues. The Argentinean has stated his desire to leave the Eastland’s club and twice handed transfer request, which was turned down both times.

The 27-year-old has been inspirational behind City’s success in the ongoing season and has scored 22 goals in 38 matches so far. Manchester City have slapped a 50 million price tag on the striker, which might hinder the chances of any deal taking place in the future.

The former Boca Juniors striker has also attracted interest from Italian sides, Inter Milan and Juventus.
