  • Juventus and Pescara are playing the best football: Arrigo Sacchi

The former A.C Milan manager is full of praise for the Serie A and Serie B leaders, and feels bad for Fabio Capello

The legendary Italian manager believes that Juventus and Pescara have been playing the most exciting football in the peninsula.

Juventus have been in outstanding form this season, having stayed undefeated in all competitions thus far. The Turin giants lead the Serie A standings after 22 matches into the season, and recently won the first-leg of Coppa Italia semi-final against Sacchi’s former side, AC Milan.

The former Real Madrid director believes that Juventus head-coach, Antonio Conte, has instilled great mentality and a sound work ethic in the team.

Moving on to Serie B, Sacchi believes that Pescara are head and shoulders above the rest of the teams, in terms of their style of play. He believes that Zdenek Zeman’s side has been extremely professional, and they have a potent attacking force within their ranks. They have been playing consistently, and it shows in their league standings too. The Dolphins are favourites to qualify for the Serie A next season.

In an interview, the former Milan manager said:

“At this moment in time, Juventus and Pescara are playing the best football in Italy.”

When asked about the resignation of Fabio Capello as the England national team manager, Sacchi states that he felt bad for his countryman. Having known Capello for quite a long time, the master tactician was of the view that he might be having mixed feelings about his decision.

Giving his personal opinion on the issue, the 1994 World Cup winning boss stated,

“I’m disappointed for him. He’s a great personality and a great Coach too. Knowing him like I do I know that he will be saddened, but sometimes it is also a relief to leave.”

Capello recently handed his resignation following the English Football Association’s decision to strip John Terry from the national side’s captaincy without taking the Italian into confidence. Consequently, the former Real Madrid boss felt betrayed and stepped down from his managerial post.
