Javier Pastore over Alexis Sanchez, Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti – Serie A Update

Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti, has suggested that Palermo’s attacking midfielder, Javier Pastore, is a much likely bid for his club than the Udinese winger, Alexis Sanchez. The owner believes that summer transfer window would be a door to Pastore as the Argentinean has been consistent and is a very good asset for the future.

Moratti was recently interviewed in an Italian T.V show, Le Iene, where he was asked to mark a few players from 1-10, according to importance for the outfit in the summer transfer window. Moratti answered for the Udinese forward Sanchez first and said:

“Sanchez? I’d say four out of 10. I don’t think we can get him, he’s too expensive.”

Then he responded for the rest of the players including Pastore, Cavani and Messi. The Nerazzurri President said:

“Palermo’s Javier Pastore, Five. Napoli’s Edinson Cavani, One. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Eight. That would be nice but I’d have to say zero.”

When asked about the former talismanic Nerazzurri striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Moratti expressed his admiration for the player and said:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic? I’d like to say 10, but it is a zero because Milan won’t sell him.”

Moratti also said that Diego Milito would, under every circumstance, stay at San Siro and he is not on the market in this summer. He also expressed his feelings about the former coach, Rafael Benitez, who was replaced on Christmas Eve last year.

The President said that Benitez made him upset towards the end of his tenure, that is why he had to be replaced. Moratti said that he wasn’t the right replacement for Jose Mourinho and Mourinho is the kind of coach who will be accepted anytime he returns to the outfit.

Adding to his statements, the Nerazzurri owner also expressed his view about the current tactician, Leonardo Araujo, saying that things are going very well with the former Rossoneri head coach and he will keep his job for the next year with the Serpent.

The Inter President has had a tough season watching his Treble winning team failing to defend the Scudetto and UEFA Champions League titles. However, the outfit has managed to stay in the race for Coppa Italia and they face Palermo at Stadio Olimpico, Rome, in the final of the competition.
