Japeth Paul Aguilar; Andy Mark Barroca: Top performers from round three of SEABA Championship 2011

Philippines 106 – Singapore 51

Playing at Jakarta on Saturday, team Philippines annihilated Singapore in the game 1 of the third round of the Southeast Asian Basketball Association Championship and romped towards a comprehensive 106-51 victory. Philippines won their third successive game in as many days and are clinched the Finals berth yet again.

An overview on the best performances from the game 1 of the third round is discussed below.

Japeth Paul Aguilar

Power forward Japeth Paul Aguilar posted his best performance of the tournament and guided Philippines into the Finals. Aguilar landed a team-high 18 points, clutched 15 rebounds and blocked 3 shots as the Philippines stamped their might on the reeling team of Singapore.

Japeth Paul connected 7 shots out of 11 field goal attempts and landed 4 free throws. The 24 year old Aguilar was incredibly instrumental on the clutch and restrained the opposition from gaining any sort of momentum.

Andy Mark Barroca         

Andy Mark Barroca provided a substantial support to Aguilar on the front court to stimulate the offensive system of Philippines. Andy Mark shared a game-high 18 points with Japeth Paul and dished out 5 assists to put his team on the frontline.

Barroca buried two blows from beyond the arc, landed four free throws in as many attempts and connected all of his four shots from the field.

Marnel Baracael

The 26 year old small forward Marnel Baracael erupted with an impressive performance. He scored 17 points, gathered 6 rebounds and handed out 3 assists to hand an embarrassing defeat to the team Singapore.

Dylan Simon Ababou

Dylan Simon Ababou kept the score board ticking with his impressive offensive performance. Dylan Simon scored 14 points in 27 minutes of playing time as all of the scoring came from the field as he connected 7 shots out of 11 field goal attempts.

Christopher Ryan Lutz   

Although Christopher Ryan Lutz didn’t post one of the best performances on the front court, however he was pretty active in freeing up a number of opportunities for his teammates. Christopher Ryan racked up 11 points and handed out 7 assists in 24 minutes of playing time.

Wei Long Wong

The face of Singapore, Wei Long Wong was the only player in the team’s line-up who posted a decent performance. Wong landed a game-high 20 points and clutched 5 rebounds, however his efforts couldn’t make the life difficult for  Philippines.
