The Italian giants are targeting the young and out of favour Barcelona winger, Ibrahim Afellay, in order to start project ‘build-up’ after a miserable season.
Inter Milan have been trying to recover the loss of Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese mentor left to join the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, last season.
Under the tutelage of the self-proclaimed ‘special one’, Inter Milan were able to win a historical treble. The Italian giants were able to win the Italian Serie A along with the Copa Italia and the UEFA Champions League.
However, since the departure of Jose Mourinho, Inter Milan have tried their luck with different coaches, but they simple can’t find the same form which they once possessed.
After failing to impress this season, Inter Milan are now trying to start a project ‘build up’, where they will have to restart from scratch, in order to build a team which can start winning silverware all over again.
With quite a lot of aged players in the squad already, Inter Milan are lining up bids for younger players, who are either out of favour in their current clubs, or want to join the Italian side.
The Dutch international youngster, who injured himself while playing for Barcelona during the start of the season, is in the list of players which the Neroazzuri are looking forward to buying.
Ibrahim Afellay joined Barcelona last season during the January transfer window, and he has rarely seen any playing time on the pitch.
According to La Stampa, Inter Milan have already communicated with Barcelona about their midfielder-come-winger, Ibrahim Afellay.
It has been reported that the Milan-based club are ready to offer Barcelona a figure around 8 million Euros, for the player who has missed out a major part of the current season due to an injury.
Since Afellay has been missing out on footballing action, players like Cristian Tello, Thiago Alcantara and Isaac Cuenca have shown their traits in the Blaugrana jersey.
The three youngsters have been performing phenomenally for the Catalan giants and Josep Guardiola will definitely find it hard to fit in Ibrahim Afellay in the Barcelona team, since other youngsters are showing immense talent on the ball.
It seems that Barcelona will be ready to cash in on the Dutch players, since the Catalans are also looking forward to buying the Milan centre-back Thiago Silva in the near future and the money received from the sale of Afellay might aid the Catalans in the
