ICC Americas Region Division One – Argentina v Suriname: Match Preview
Argentina will be taking on the Suriname side in the day’s opening match of the ICC World Cricket League Americas Region Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida, on Friday, July 22,
The upcoming bout will be the 10th match of the tournament with Argentina and Suriname failing to secure any win so far from their 3 games apiece. Both the teams are currently at the series rock bottom.
The fixture, therefore, comes as a crucial competition for both the sides as they head out to secure some goodwill at the series.
Previously, Argentina contended against Bermuda in the series opener on July 18 but suffered its first loss with 3 wickets in a crucial ending to the match. The team then played against the Canadians and again faced a disappointing 9 wickets defeat. As for
their third fixture, Argentina failed to cover up the chase as USA earned an impressive 66 runs win.
Suriname’s defeats, on the other hand, began since their first game against the hosts, USA. The team was defeated with 49 runs. On the following day, Suriname suffered another loss at the hands of Bermuda. In their recent participation, the team faced their
consecutive third defeat against Cayman Islands.
As for their squads, Argentina and Suriname will be coming out with their best in the business, hoping to offer some resistance to the opponent.
Hoping to make early whacks for the side, the Argentinean top batting order will kick off with Alejo Tissera, Hernan Williams, and Benjamin Precious. The team skipper, Esteban MacDermott will also have to rely on the supporting middle order, featuring all-rounder
Gary Savage and Donald Forrester, in case for an early loss.
On the other hand, the team’s pacers will also look onto making an early breakthrough on the Suriname top order. The attack will come from Precious, coupled with Pablo Ryan. The opening bowlers will be complemented by the captain and offbreak bowler MacDermott
along with spinner Donald Forrester.
