How Barcelona beat Real Madrid in their own “dirty” game (Part 8)

Soon, the world saw what they were waiting for, a brilliant solo goal by Lionel Messi. The Argentinean star took the ball from Sergio Busquets almost 40 yards out and dribbled past six Real Madrid players until he used his right foot to get past the Spanish No. 1, Iker Casillas.

The best player in the world simply showed what he was capable of and Barcelona killed the tie off with a two goal advantage over Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho was banned from the touchline and Sergio Ramos received a yellow card.

Sergio Ramos and Pepe are going to be out for the next match while Jose Mourinho will have to watch from the stands and will not be allowed to give any sort of team talks throughout the game.

Currently, Barcelona has a two away-goal advantage over Real Madrid. The Catalan Giants were able to give Jose Mourinho a taste of his own medicine. Mourinho later talked about how the refereeing decisions were against Real Madrid but there is no denying the fact that Real Madrid could have seen two or three red cards in the game.

The whole world only saw how Sergio Busquets held his face and Pedro Rodriguez fell too easily to the tackles being put on them. However, the Spanish Champions deserved the victory because they were far better than Real Madrid.

The Los Blancos restricted themselves to counter attacking tactics and Barcelona simply found a way to counter this strategy. Real Madrid needs to bounce back from a 0-2 home loss to their archrivals and Jose Mourinho has to try something new rather than playing the same way.

The Los Blancos will really have to “come out and play” against Barcelona, unlike their tie against them in the Copa del Rey final and the second leg of the Spanish La Liga.

Barcelona, on the other hand, will be having a home crowd advantage. The La Blaugrana has already won 5-0 against Real Madrid at Camp Nou. It is going to be quite difficult for the Los Blancos to score two goals against a tough looking Barcelona side. However, there are still ninety minutes left to play between the two teams and anything can happen.

What Real Madrid really needs to do now is to change their tactics against Barcelona. The Catalan Giants can pass their way through to the next final of the UEFA Champions League but Real Madrid really needs to play attacking football in order to score goals.

Contrarily, Barcelona is extraordinary, not only at playing attacking football but also enhancing their attacking caliber at their home, Camp Nou.

Currently, the Spanish champions have an eight point advantage over Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga and a two away goal advantage in the UEFA Champions League semifinal. What the world really needs to know is the fact that Barcelona is still one of the teams which play football as it is. Nevertheless, the tactical change against Real Madrid is part of the game.

Playing defensive football is a part of the game and poor referee decisions doesn’t make a team “cheaters”. There were decisions that fell in Barcelona’s favour and decisions that fell in Real Madrid’s favour. However, with Barcelona being the favourites to win the final of the UEFA Champions League, all eyes are braced upon them and even a single mistake is intolerable and throws them into the “bad books”.
