Gorgeous Sixty tipped to win Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle
Willie Mullins’ trainee, Gorgeous Sixty, has the best chances of winning the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Grade 3 Grade 1 at Cheltenham in England on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. The major event has a winning cash prize of £34,170.
The going will be good in the 2 mile 110 yard event, which will start at 4:40 GMT. A total of 24 quality runners have been attracted towards the race and their names are: Vendor, Kazlian, Ulck Du Lin, Edeymi, Gorgeous Sixty, Argocat, Kapga De Cerisy, Royal
Bonsai, Ardlui, Dark And Dangerous, Lemon Drop Red, Soliwery, Sportsmaster, Arnaud, Bat Masterson, Chill, Jackies Solitaire, Blue Cannon, High Samana, Une Artiste, Colebrooke, Kie, Moujik Borget and One Cool Shabra.
The bookmakers have complete faith in the abilities of Gorgeous Sixty, who has an impressive record over hurdles. Her recent form has also been quite good, which means that she will be quite hard to beat in the race today.
The four-year-old filly has participated in four races over hurdles, winning one of them. She has also secured a runner up and third place finish each, which means there was only one occasion, where she failed to make it to the top three.
Gorgeous Sixty was unable to deliver a strong result in her most recent outing, but she is expected to turn things around this time. The punters will be a touch hesitant over placing bets on her, but they might miss a chance of winning some easy money.
The favourite runner will be partnered by veteran rider, Ruby Walsh, who has earned 153 victories over hurdles and has a fabulous strike rate. He will be looking forward to give another dominant performance today.
Although Gorgeous Sixty seems to be in good shape at the moment, she will be given a tough time by Vendor, as he is also in very good form. Alan King’s trainee has won one hurdle out of seven attempts, but his most recent outing saw him finish at the top
of the table.
The four-year-old gelding will be partnered by one of the best jockeys in the business, Robert Thornton, who is nearing 250 hurdle victories.
Other than the top two favourites, Kazlian, Ulck Du Lin and Edeymi also have decent chances of winning the major event.
