Manchester United’s veteran midfielder, Ryan Giggs has admitted that he is looking forward to going into the Manchester derby, as he knows that the Premier League title is on the line this time around.
United are currently sitting three points ahead of Manchester City, but a win for City could see them go to the top of the table, since they have a much better goal difference.
Over the course of his career, Giggs has gone on to feature in thirty five Manchester derbies and he knows just how crucial each and every one of them can be.
However, with so much on the line this time around, the veteran hopes to put on his best performance, as he wishes to help his side go on and claim the three points in the game, along with the Premier League crown.
When talking about the upcoming game and just how important it is for the team and to him as a player, Giggs is quoted to have said: "These are the sort games which I am still involved in football for"
“Obviously with three games to go and almost being neck-and-neck going to the finish there is no mistaking this is a massive game and the biggest in recent times.”
"But as a United player, you're used to big games. You have to block out all the hype and the predictions. That's been going on all the season anyway, with people saying City were going to win the title and then United.”
"It's different for the fans. I must admit it's hard but you have to be professional and not let emotions get too far ahead of you.”
It is now up to United to go on and maintain their stay at the top of the table, as any slip up would see City go on and claim the top spot.
Nonetheless, with City already having beaten United by six goals to one earlier in the season, United need to get their tactics right, or they could potentially go on and suffer another massive loss at the hands of their local rivals.
