The Udinese head coach has remarked on the tussle between the Italian and the Argentine, who are in competition of securing the golden boot
by the end of the season.
Antonio Di Natale has been the top goal scorer in the Serie A for the past two years and is in contention of securing another golden boot award by the end
of the season. He will join the exclusive club of players who have won the Serie A top scorer award for three consecutive seasons.
Despite spending short spells on the treatment table, Di Natale is still in contention of the top goal scorer for the 2011-12 season, and led the charts
for quite a long time throughout the course of the season.
Diego Milito has been the only shining light of Inter Milan over the course of the season, and has been the club’s greatest helper in their pursuit of reaching
a respectable position in the League. He is on the same number of goals as Antonio Di Natale after matchday 32 fixture of the Serie A, and both have scored 20 goals till now.
Diego Milito achieved the feat of 20 goals in 27 matches whereas Di Natale took three more matches to score the same number of goals.
Guidolin mentioned that he had coached the Argentine for a little while and knew that he was going on to become a great player, he further stated that had
Inter Milan had a better season , Milito would have had a better campaign as well. He commented:
“I trained Milito only for a few days, but already realised he was a champion. He is a great professional and without the problems he had it would’ve been
an even better campaign.”
When quizzed on the probable partnership in their 33rd match of the Serie A season, the Friulani boss remarked:
“Who will partner Di Natale? I don’t know if Antonio Floro Flores is available, but Gabriel Torje is in good shape and Paulo Barreto has played two games
after a long lay-off. I hope to make the right decision.”
