Football Update: Daniel Alves injures his hamstring

The Barcelona full back Daniel Alves pulled his hamstring while playing against Malaga during a Spanish La Liga fixture. The Brazilian defender has featured a bit too much for the Catalan Giants and is a crucial member of the first team. The Catalan coach Josep Guardiola looked to be concerned about the injured player and changed him for the other Brazilian and former Sevilla full back Adriano.

Daniel Alves has been crucial member of the Barcelona squad this season. He has featured in all the games except for the Spanish Cup game against Athletic Club. The Catalan Giants have won 76% of the games with Daniel Alves and without him, the percentage just falls above 60%. The statistics clearly show that he is very much needed by the Spanish Champions who are currently at the top of table in the Spanish Primera Liga.

Daniel Alves has not signed his contract with the Spanish Champions just yet even though both the sides want the deal to take place. Josep Guardiola looked to be frustrated about the club’s decision as the player’s contract expires in the same year. With so many conflicts going on between both the parties and the deal failing twice, Barcelona are looking forward to offering the Brazilian with a final offer.

The Catalan coach Josep Guardiola spoke to the press just before the game against Malaga. The former Barcelona midfielder struck the club’s management who were failing time and time again to sign a contract with the wanted right back. Daniel Alves has been getting offers from other clubs including the English Champions Chelsea and the Barcelona arch rivals Real Madrid. However, the Brazilian had made it clear on many situations that he has no intentions of leaving the club at the moment.

After pulling off his hamstring against Malaga, Daniel Alves might be going out of action for a month. However, the Brazilian star was not stretchered out, in fact he walked towards the locker room which clearly showed that the injury was not as bad as it looked. It was during the 15th minute of the game when Xavi Hernandez gave a lobbed pass to Daniel Alves on the right flank and while chasing, he couldn’t get to it on time and stressed his hamstring.

The Brazilian full back began to walk back to take his position as a right back but fell in between as the La Blaugrana players asked for a medic to help him. The Brazilian’s encounter with the bottom table side Malaga ended in only fifteen minutes as he had to leave the pitch.
