Fabio Capello: Wilshere could become a world class player

England’s Italian manager, Fabio Capello, has claimed that Arsenal's young gun, Jack Wilshere, has every attribute to become a world class player.

Fabio Capello told the English Football Association's official website that Jack Wilshere is the future of England’s national team and the young Arsenal midfielder would be really crucial in the upcoming international fixture against Denmark.

Jack Wilshere made an impressive Three Lions debut under Fabio Capello a few months ago and is now considered as one of the starters of English national team.

The 19-year-old is a revelation at Arsenal and has already become a first team member of the Gunners.

The Italian boss has hailed Wilshere’s performances for Arsenal and claimed that the English midfielder has the quality to play in different positions.

Moreover, Fabio Capello has compared Jack Wilshere to the legendary France and Chelsea midfielder, Claude Makelele.

"I hope he can be like Makelele in the future, now he prefers to play forward, but I monitored him in one game where he played in this position [in front of the back four] and he played very well”.

The Italian manager added that the young Arsenal player has the potential to become one of the best holding midfielders in the world.

“Wilshere is really intelligent on the pitch. His movement, with the ball, without the ball has improved a lot. In some games he has played forward, in other games he played in front of the back four. He will be really important for me. I monitored him from the start of the season and he has improved a lot. He is a good player at short passes and winning back the ball. He is playing with confidence”.

Jack Wilshere is expected to get his second England cap during midweek’s international match against Denmark and the Three Lions boss has acknowledged that he had discussed Wilshere’s best position with Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger.

Moreover, Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, is also expected to start for English national team against Denmark, and Fabio Capello expects the Red Devils’ striker to show his top form.

The Italian boss hails Rooney’s brace in Manchester United 3-1 over Aston Villa and expects him to score goals against Denmark on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the English national team boss also confirmed that instead of Jermaine Defoe, Aston Villa’s 24 million pound signing, Darren Bent, would be paired with Wayne Rooney in the attack against Denmark.

Moreover, the England squad would be without the services of their captain, Rio Ferdinand, who was ruled out due to a calf injury and did not even feature in Manchester United’s recent defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool’s Steven Gerard will also not take part due to a groin injury which he suffered in the win over Chelsea.
