Emmanuel Adebayor interested in Tottenham Hotspur; Brazilian Sandro staying at White Hart Lane

Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that he will consider joining Arsenal's North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur if an approach is made by Harry Redknapp's side.

The Manchester City man is currently plying his trade in Spain; Adebayor joined Real Madrid in the January transfer window on loan from Manchester City after failing to impress manager Roberto Mancini. He was considered surplus to requirements by Mancini and subsequently shipped out to Spain on a six-month loan till the end of the season.

In his brief time at Real Madrid, the Togo international has grabbed most of the limited opportunities available to him at the Spanish club and has been in impressive form. He was particularly outstanding during last month's UEFA Champions League tie against Tottenham Hotspur; the striker ended up scoring a brace in Real's 4-0 win at Bernabeu.

Adebayor was greeted with abusive slogans by Tottenham fans during the tie but his signing will surely add spice to the already furious North London rivalry. The player has a history to get into trouble; he controversially stepped onto Robin van Persie last season in his first game against his former side.

The 27-year-old has made his intention clear that he has no desire to return to City and wants a permanent move. Mancini mainly used Adebayor as a substitute and the striker spent most of the time on the bench which made Adebayor frustrated. If he returns to City, he will find himself well down the pecking order with January signings of Bosnian International, Eden Dzeko, and the arrival of Italian, Mario Balotelli, in last summer's transfer window.

While talking to a Spanish radio station, the Togo International revealed, "I was supposed to sign for Tottenham but everything went and Madrid came in. It is bad because people have to realize that we are footballers. Today we play for this club; tomorrow we may end up playing for them. So what about if I'm wearing Tottenham's shirt tomorrow? As their player, are they going to encourage me or are they still going to sing that song?"

Meanwhile, Brazilian star Sandro, who has been a revelation at White Hart Lane, is constantly being linked with top European clubs like Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan in the summer.

The player initially took a while to get to terms with Premier League football after signing from Internacional last season. But, his impressive displays since the turn of the year have led the big clubs to take notice.

His agent Paulo Chignall has dismissed these speculations and distanced himself from these rumours, insisting, "Reading the newspapers I read that many clubs are interested in Sandro, like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma and Real Madrid. But I have not received any proposal and no one has talked to me."
