Eden Hazard has been predicted to be a hit in the English Premier League by his international teammates after the Belgium international announced his decision to join Chelsea.
After weeks of suspense, during which time he was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, Hazard announced he would be signing with Chelsea. The youngster posted on his official twitter account,
“I’m signing for the Champions League winner.”
Even though there has been no official confirmation as yet, Chelsea are reportedly set to sign the Belgium international for 32 million pounds. It has also been reported that the 21-year-old will sign a long term five year deal with the Blues.
Arsenal defender and Belgium international Thomas Vermaelen revealed he certain Hazard would go on to be extremely successful with the London side in the English Premier League ahead of the international friendly against England.
Vermaelen said in an interview:
“He is a great player with a lot of special qualities. I think he is a player people go to the stadiums for. People will love him and love watching him playing football, so I think he is a good player for the Premier League.”
Meanwhile Fulham second striker Moussa Dembele felt Hazard’s style of play would best suit the English Premier League. Dembele predicted Hazard to be successful in the what he considered to be the best competition in the world.
“He has quality that not a lot of other players have and I think in every competition he goes, he will play very well - including the Premier League, even if it is the best competition in the world.”
Last but not least, Simon Mignolet, the Sunderland goalkeeper, was a little more skeptical. He felt that while Hazard had the quality to succeed in the English Premier League, he would have to work hard after making the move from Lille to Chelsea.
“It is a big step from Lille to Chelsea and he is going to be under some pressure, especially with the money that has been spent, but I think he is a good player and if he is on his day, he can do a good job for Chelsea.”
