David Storl to lead the Shot put showdown at the Europa Halle – 2012 IAAF Indoor Permit

Storl, the gold medal winner of the World Youth Championships and the World Junior Championships, boasts of bagging the world junior record for throwing a 6kg shot put to 22.73m.
For the senior level competitions, the German athlete holds a personal best of 21.78m. He is also a silver medal winner of the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships
This year, while participating in the World Championships in Athletics in Daegu, Storl earned a gold medal.

The popularity of the emerging athlete was observed yesterday when the opening press conference of the Karlsruhe meeting witnessed Storl prevailing as a major attraction for the media personnel.
Commenting on the special attention being paid to him by both the press and electronic media, Storl said that he was happy about the spotlight due for his showdown.
He said that his spectators will certainly enjoy his performance as a stiff competition was promised.
