Blackpool's manager Ian Holloway insists Blackpool will avoid relegation: EPL News

Blackpool's manager, Ian Holloway, has insisted that his side can avoid relegation this season. He stated that the team has the ability and the quality to stay in the Premier league this season and vowed to come back strongly next term.

The Tangerines have had a dreadful run of form recently and have managed to win only one game out of the last 13 played. The Seasiders had a great start to the season and were constantly praised for their brilliant attacking style of play, but have recently plunged into the drop zone after a series of dismal performances.

However, the manager remained optimistic and stated that it has been difficult for the club recently. He admitted that there has been a lot of pressure on the players recently, but remained confident that the club will play the Premier League next season, not the Championship.

“It is just a run. Lots of teams have gone on these type of runs and in this league it is really difficult to get out of it. We have got to look back at the times we have played and scored and won games people would never have believed we could do. That is still there. Every good run starts and stops and every bad run starts and stops,” the Englishman was quoted as saying.

The former Bristol Rovers' mid-fielder revealed that he would have liked a better finish to the season rather than a better start. He added that things have not gone the way he would have liked recently, but the team can surely avoid going down with a strong finish to the season.

“I would have loved to have started awful and then had a really good finish - but you can't choose that at this level. Unfortunately in the last few weeks whatever formula we have tried hasn't really worked and confidence can get affected. But am I still confident in my team? Yes. Do I still see us staying up? Yes. Now we are down there we have got to get out,” he concluded.

Ian Holloway has managed Blackpool in 88 games thus far and won 33 games, losing 36 and drawing 19.
