Animal Kingdom to encounter victims in Preakness Stakes – Horse Racing news

The winner of the prestigious Kentucky Derby, Animal Kingdom will be facing three of the racehorses who he defeated in the race that took place at the Churchill Downs.

These three victims of Animal Kingdom will also chase him in the upcoming Preakness Stakes.

The racehorse trains under the care of the famed trainer Graham Motion. On Sunday, the trainer announced the participation of the racehorse in the Preakness Stakes, which is also the second leg of the prestigious Triple Crown races. The event has been scheduled to take place on May 21, 2011 at Pimlico in Baltimore.

When the trainer of the champion racehorse was approached by the correspondents regarding the plans of the Preakness Stakes, he was reported as saying, “We certainly plan to be there. It is going to be exciting. I feel really good because we are coming to the next leg with a fresh horse, which is going to be in our favour. He didn’t appear to have a hard race and that will benefit us down the road.”

Kentucky Derby was the third start of the season for Animal Kingdom. Meanwhile, it was the only fifth race of his racing career. He truly impressed his fans and connections when he held off the champion Nehro and claimed one of the most significant events of the United States.

His trainer, Motion, is a native Englishman. He was more than delighted when his trainee landed the event at the Churchill Downs racecourse that took place on Sunday. He was more than excited when he was talking to the correspondents as he said that it is not something that he never expected to do, but the best part about it was the fact that he will always be known as a Kentucky Derby winning trainer, which is a big deal of its own.

On the other hand, it has also been revealed that the runner up to the winner, Nehro will not be going ahead with the Preakness Stakes and instead wait for the Belmont Stakes.
