The Turin legend delighted with the Rossoneri slip against Edy Reja’s side, and is looking forward to the game against Siena at the weekend
Juventus striker, Alessandro Del Piero, has urged his teammates to make most of A.C Milan’s dropped points.
Milan suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Lazio at Stadio Olimpico Rome on Wednesday, February 1. The Rossoneri could have gone on top of the table had they won the game, as Juve’s matchday fixture was abandoned due to heavy
snow. The Turin giants remain one point ahead of the Champions, and also have a game in hand.
Del Piero is delighted with Milan’s slip against the Biancazzurri and insists that his team should exploit the situation and extend their lead on top. The veteran striker is delighted with how the season has progressed for his
side, and believes that he did not expect that before the campaign started. However, he has warned his team against complacency and insists that the season is still a long way to go, and they must remain cautious.
While talking to the reporters, Del Piero, said,
“We went into this season white, in every sense, but we’re still first in the standings. The games last night left us still smiling about our ranking. With a point advantage and a game still to play, we must be good and exploit
the chance to stretch our lead, even if it is still too early to stop and look at the table.”
The 37-year-old is disappointed with the cancellation of the midweek game, and is hoping that the weather remains clear for the weekend game.
“We are already concentrating on the next game, the one on Sunday against Siena at the Juventus Stadium. Hopefully the weather will be better, in any case, we want to keep going!” added the former Italian international
Juventus will host Siena in their next game on Sunday, February 5. On the other hand, Milan will play Napoli in their respective league game the same day.
Del Piero has made 13 league appearances this season but is yet to score a goal.
